He is the younger of two siblings. He played for Team USA in the 1999 World Juniors as a starting goaltender. Campbell was the second drafted goaltender in the 2000 NHA Draft, after [[Isak Axelsson]]. Campbell started his professional career with the [[Death Valley Heat]], as [[Hans Roxas]]’s backup. He took their starting position at the start of the 2002-03 season, when Roxas was called up to be [[Sid Sixby]]’s backup. Campbell was later called up to the [[San Francisco Blades]] during the latter half of the 2002-03 season to replace Roxas after their career-ending injury. After Sixby’s retirement following the 2010-11 season, Campbell became the starting Blades goalie, with [[Quin Buzumna]] as his backup.
