## ❦ appearance
### Lupus - FREEZE
A large ginger wolf, with subtle cape markings that resemble wings. His face and underbelly is a light tawny.
### ⌂ Homid - FAWN
A burly and built man that stands at a solid 6’0”, with a sun-kissed complexion and sparse freckles. His auburn hair is densely curled and looks deceivingly short. His beard is darker than his hair, closer to brown than ginger. He has gray eyes that are deep set, making him look a little older than he is. This is his home form.
### Flight - FLIGHT
A barn owl that looks a little more… orange than usual. On the larger side.
### Monster - FIGHT
His monster form is brighter in color than his lupus form, becoming nearly red (as opposed to his wolf form’s rusty ginger coat). His underbelly markings turn yellow, resembling a hot furnace.
## ❦ personality

| :------: | :--------: | :----------: |
| caring | flirty | sycophantic |
| trusting | calculated | selfish |
| mellow | servile | manipulative
Dougie is a social butterfly and is a huge flirt—though he usually never gets past flirting because he doesn’t like to initiate, much to his detriment. He’s an expert at small talk and has the skills to get anyone to start yapping.
There is a selfish side of Dougie, one that chases clout and wealth, but it tends to be well-hidden underneath his genuine kindness. He won’t put others down, but he’s not above being an asskisser. It’s hard to call him out on this sort of stuff, since he is sickeningly friendly to everyone all the time.
He tends to conceal his actual personal life from others, even other werewolves. As a result, most people outside Dougie’s close circle think he’s incredibly boring and/or some kind of cop trying to get information.
## ❦ history
- Born to an exiled Night/Light couple living in Hundvik, a seedy borough of northwest Daystrom known to be home to exiled and unaffiliated werewolves
- At 18, he joins a gang of exclusively “Estival” werewolves called the Heat, who use “fire” magic to hustle and steal from mundies in the city. Dougie uses his earth and air magic to look like smoke, so he can “pass” as an Estival.
- Dougie rises through their ranks quickly due to his charms, when he finds out most of the Heat aren’t even Estivals at all. He reforms the group as a safe haven pack for all kinds of werewolves. Pleased at this turnaround, his parents grant him ownership of their magitech store, which also acts as a home base for the Heat.
- As the Heat grow, they pivot to community service and mutual aid to develop and stabilize Hudvik. Dougie meets Hans and Jakey, and becomes involved in a relationship with them.
- Akari, Hans’s daughter, is the first werewolf born into the Heat. Hundvik grows more independent from both Daystrom and the traditional Night and Light packs, though they continue to be a source of creating Federation-approved legal documents for werewolves lacking them.
- The Heat grows larger than Dougie could’ve imagined, moving their office from his store to a proper facility. It becomes less personal and more bureaucratic, but at least the mission hasn’t faded. Dougie retires from his post at age 38.
- As Akari grows up, she becomes more curious about the other packs. She tells Dougie that he should try and join them. So he does.
- He finds his mother’s pack, the Nights, to join them, but fails their test of courage. He goes to his father’s pack, the Lights, to join them instead, but he also fails the test of wit. He goes back home to Hundvik, disappointed in himself.
- The next day, two letters arrive, one from each pack, saying that despite his failures, he is still welcome to serve in the pack as a medic, due to his skills. Not wanting to choose between them, he accepts both invitations.
- So he begins to live yet another double life, pledging loyalty to both packs. He’s found out eventually when he tends to the wounded after a skirmish near Sunfort and both sides realize they know him…
- Dougie gets exiled from both packs.
- He goes back to Hundvik—now as a true exile—but he’s now convinced he can unite the packs, because he saw that they weren’t too different from each other.
